All major Delhi markets will be closed on Friday, April 25, as merchants are observing a total bandh to protest the horrific Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 dead, most of them tourists. Over 100 markets—like Chandni Chowk, Sadar Bazar, Karol Bagh, and Khan Market—are also participating, after being urged by leading trade bodies like CAIT and NDTA. The protest was meant as a tribute to the victims and a denunciation of terrorism, with the traders demanding peaceful protest and an appeal to Delhi Police to uphold law and order. Black armband marches and candlelight processions were held in large markets on Thursday, during which there was a display of utmost despair and solidarity within the business community. Security has been enhanced by officials throughout the city, and the bandh is strongly backed as a demonstration of national solidarity and a demand for strong action against terror.
