Passengers traveling via Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport should brace for potential disruptions until May 4. Operational constraints stemming from infrastructure upgrades and shifting wind patterns are affecting flight schedules, leading to longer taxi times and delayed departures.

Key Highlights:
- Runway 28/10 has been undergoing Instrument Landing System upgrades since April 8, restricting available landing and takeoff options.
- A shift in prevailing wind conditions has further reduced operational flexibility, with flights now relying on a limited number of active runways.
- Approximately 240 flights are facing delays daily, causing congestion at boarding gates and impacting passenger flow.
- Airlines are urging travelers to check flight status updates frequently and arrive early at the airport to accommodate potential scheduling changes.
- The affected runway is expected to be back in service by the first week of May, gradually restoring normal operations and minimizing disruptions.
