Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has launched the E-Kalyan Portal, an online portal designed to ease online application of various social security pension schemes. As an expansion of the current Him-Parivar portal, E-Kalyan is specifically targeting Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, minorities, and specially-abled individuals to apply from home without venturing out to government offices.
The government spent Rs 1,410 crore on over 8 lakh pensioners during the previous year and will be adding another 37,000 this year at a cost of Rs 67 crore. Aadhaar, Him Bhoomi, and PDS database-integrated portal ensures transparency and ease of verification. CM Sukhu reaffirmed that social security pensions are a priority sector, reflecting the government's emphasis on welfare and inclusive growth.
