India’s adoption landscape is witnessing a heartwarming transformation, with families embracing children with open arms and open hearts. The latest initiative, Chosen with Love, highlights powerful adoption stories that showcase resilience, hope, and unconditional love.
One such story is that of Moksh, a child born with knock knees and left at a childcare institution as a newborn. For four years, families hesitated, pausing at the mention of his condition—until one couple saw beyond the label. Despite delays caused by the pandemic, they stayed connected through video calls, telling bedtime stories and patiently waiting to bring him home. Today, Moksh is thriving, excelling in swimming, acting, and even parkour.
India recorded 4,515 legal adoptions in FY 2024-25, the highest in nearly a decade. Of these, 4,155 were domestic, reflecting a shift in societal attitudes toward adoption. The Central Adoption Resource Authority continues to play a crucial role in ensuring ethical and legal adoption processes, safeguarding the rights of orphaned and abandoned children.
As more families step forward to provide loving homes, adoption is no longer seen as an exception—it is becoming a choice made with compassion and conviction.
