Residents of Bengaluru can expect a shift in weather patterns as the India Meteorological Department forecasts light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. The city woke up to cloudy skies, with temperatures ranging between 21 and 33 degrees Celsius.
The IMD has indicated that the rain will provide much-needed relief from the recent heatwave, though residents should remain cautious while commuting, as slippery roads and reduced visibility could pose challenges. Winds from the southeast are expected to blow at around 13 km/h, adding to the changing atmospheric conditions.
The Air Quality Index for Bengaluru is projected to stand at 90, indicating moderate air quality levels. While the showers are not expected to cause major disruptions, authorities advise residents to stay updated on weather alerts and take necessary precautions.
Looking ahead, meteorologists predict scattered thundershowers and gusty winds across Karnataka over the next five days. The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre has warned of wind speeds reaching 30–60 km/h, with intermittent rainfall expected in coastal and interior regions.
