In response to the recent tragic incident in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, Akasa Air has swiftly implemented a series of customer-friendly measures to support affected travelers and ensure seamless connectivity.
Key Highlights:
Akasa Air is offering full refunds for all customers canceling bookings on flights departing from Jammu & Kashmir between April 23 and May 7, 2025. This waiver applies to both direct and connecting flights involving Srinagar, providing relief to anxious travelers reconsidering their plans.
The airline has extended flexibility for rescheduling, allowing customers to make their first schedule change at no additional charge. This includes a waiver of penalties and fare differences for travel within seven days from the original booking date, ensuring passengers can adjust plans without financial burden.
To accommodate increased demand and facilitate the safe movement of passengers, Akasa Air is operating four additional flights between Mumbai and Srinagar on April 24, 2025. These extra flights are part of a broader industry effort to evacuate tourists and maintain vital connectivity during the crisis.
Akasa Air’s initiatives are in line with directives from the Union Tourism Ministry and industry-wide efforts, which include similar waivers and extra flights by other major carriers, to support travelers impacted by the security situation in the region.
The airline has reiterated its commitment to customer safety, convenience, and transparent communication, closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with authorities to provide ongoing support.
These proactive steps by Akasa Air aim to minimize disruption, offer peace of mind to travelers, and uphold essential air services during a challenging period for the region.
