Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered warm tribute to Dr. Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan, the illustrious scientist who headed ISRO between 1994 and 2003, in the 121st episode of his monthly radio address, Mann Ki Baat. Dr. Kasturirangan, who died recently, was remembered for his pioneering work on India's space program and education system.
PM Modi emphasized the revolutionary influence of Dr. Kasturirangan's leadership at ISRO, pointing out that during his leadership, the organization became internationally renowned. Most of India's key satellites were launched during his time, and his work in developing the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) made it the nation's most dependable satellite launch vehicle.
Apart from his contributions to space science, Dr. Kasturirangan also made a significant contribution to India's National Education Policy.
